A QUICK INTRODUCTION TO CERAMIC COATINGS
Ceramic coatings give tremendous value and performance when compared to other types of paint protection.
Once a ceramic coating has been applied to your car, you won’t need to polish it again for the life of the coating. For the majority of the time the only thing you will need to do to maintain the coating is to wash your car*.
This means that by machine polishing the car once, followed by a single application of a ceramic coating, you can achieve a finish which lasts for years.

Our studio is a Garage Therapy Detailing Centre. As master detailers, we are accredited to use all of Garage Therapys incredible range of ceramic coatings. We use Garage Therapys products to clean, prepare and finish our customers cars and also stock the range of GT car care products in our shop, helping our clients to achieve professional results at home. We give ongoing product advice and support to all our customers.

THE GARAGE THERAPY RANGE:
TYPHON
This is hands down our finest coating. It is thicker and glossier than any other coating we have ever used.
The extra visual depth, clarity and colourshift (richness of colour) that this coating adds is simply spectacular.
Typhon is a high solids, ultra durable hydrophobic coating and at around 50% thicker than most ceramic coatings, it provides increased resistance against UV rays, acid rain, salts, chemicals and bird droppings.
Typhon's highly reflective surface enables you to maintain your vehicles paintwork much more effieciently, saving you time and keeping the appearanceof the vehicle cleaner for longer against the rigors of the envoronment.
Simply put, Typhon looks incredible, lasts for years and makes your car easy to look after while retaining a deep gloss finish. If you want the very best, then this is the coating for you.
Typhon can be applied as a single or double layer, and can be combined with base coat Gaia for the ultimate protection and/or topped with Chimera for a super-slick finish.
Typhon lasts up to 5 years from a single application.
GAIA
This is a revolutionary ceramic coating unlike any other currently available on the market. It is a high solids, super durable non-hydrophobic coating. This coating provides a hard base layer, on top of which any other form of protection can be applied - from waxes to the full range of GT ceramic coatings.
Each layer of this coating adds a micron of thickness to your vehicles paint and can be layered as much as you want. with each layer adding incredible visual clarity, gloss and depth. This coating lasts up to 7 years and provides the perfect base for Typhon or Cerberus coatings to give maximum gloss and protection.
We sometimes see cars whose paint is too thin to safely machine polish to remove defects and swirls and this coating can help to add to the depth of paint. For car care enthusiats who enjoy waxing their own car, Gaia is a perfect base, giving depth and clarity to your vehicles paint, but due to being non-hydrophobic waxes can be applied to this coating time and time again.
CERBERUS
This is a fantastic coating, combining deep gloss and slickness with easy maintenance and excellent hydrophobic properties. It is a 2 layer coating which lasts up to 3 years.
Cerberus is a very versatile ceramic coating and is suitable for use on both matte and gloss paint. It also performs really well on vinyl and plastics.
We particularly recommend this coating to complement Paint Protection Film as it can be applied over both PPF and paint to give the same uniform protection and easy washing.
CHIMERA
This coating lasts 1 year and can be used as a stand alone sealant, or as a top coat to the GT ceramic coating range. It provides a hydrophobic and slick layer that enhances gloss and increases chemical resistance. Chimera is perfect for an annual top up for ceramic coatings, feeding and rejuvenating the hydrophobics lost by ceramic coatings over time.
Over the years we have been in business, we have used ceramic coatings from many manufacturers. Many make big claims of how great their coatings are, but in the real world these coatings didn't always live up to the hype.
One of the most important things for us that when we're working on your car, we tell you what we're going to do, how we're going to do it and what to expect from the protection we apply. We have a lot of experience with applying ceramic coatings and fully stand behind the coatings we use. We offer our own personal warranty with all the coatings we apply, which covers yellowing, bubbling, peeling and failure. (The warranty does not cover damage from improper use or bad washing techniques)
You won't find claims of 8+ years or lifetime durability with these coatings, nor will they make your car scratchproof, fire resistant or that you'll never need to wash the car again, but you will find coatings that deliver exceptional results and that last for years with just one application.

WHAT IS A CERAMIC COATING?
You may have heard about car ceramic paint coatings or been offered one or something similar when buying a new car. A ceramic coating is a highly effective layer of protection which when correctly applied by a professional detailer to your cars paint, can last for years. These coatings are very different to those offered by main dealers. They are highly hydrophobic, so they repel water and dirt. They are resistant to UV rays, strong chemicals and can even help to reduce the risk of etching from bird muck and the fine scratches known as swirls.
IS A CERAMIC COATING SUITABLE FOR MY CAR?
Absolutely, whether its brand new, or a classic car, any vehicle can have a ceramic coating applied to its paint. These coatings are clear and aside from adding gloss and long lasting protection to your car, they do not affect the colour or look of your car.
HOW DOES A CERAMIC COATING WORK?
A ceramic coating forms an extremely strong bond to your cars paint, which last years rather than months as a normal wax or sealant would. They can only be removed by abrasion, such as sanding or machine polishing. The coating becomes the new outside layer of your paint, mmeaning the glossy paint underneath is sealed in, while the coating protects your car from the elements. This means that once applied your cars paint looks just as beautiful and glossy after each wash for years to come. It's worth bearing in mind that any defects in the paint such as fine scratches (swirls) will be sealed in after the coating has been applied, so before application, all the vehicles I work on are given at least a single stage machine polish prior to a ceramic coating. WHICH PARTS OF A CAR CAN BE CERAMIC COATED?
Its not just the paint which can be protected with a ceramic coating - almost every surface can also be coated: the wheels, windows, plastic trims, engine components, suspension, underbody exhaust system and leather.
